Start in Rome exploring the Colosseum before traveling to the Bay of Naples where you can discover the daunting remains of Pompeii after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Additional stops include the floating city of Venice, Verona and the Italian Lakes before stopping in Florence for your taste of the Italian Renaissance.

Brendan Tour: Itinerary

Day: 1 Depart from the USA
 Board your overnight transatlantic flight (cost not included in land only price).
Day: 2 Arrive in Rome, Italy
 Welcome to Rome, the Eternal City. There is time to relax and unwind before meeting your Travel Director in the afternoon.
Day: 3 Rome Sightseeing & at Leisure
 Perhaps join an optional excursion to the Sistine Chapel and Vatican Museums. Later, on a sightseeing tour, visit Vatican City and the Basilica of St. Peter to see the famous Pietà. On to ancient Rome to see the Forum and the Colosseum. Then your time is free. (Breakfast)
Day: 4 Rome / Bay of Naples
 Head to Sorrento to visit an inlaid wood workshop. You might want to take an optional excursion to the enchanting Isle of Capri. Then on to your hotel at the Bay of Naples. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day: 5 Bay of Naples / Monte Cassino / Assisi
 Perhaps take a guided walking tour of Pompeii, frozen in time by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D. Later, pass Monte Cassino on the way to mystical Assisi. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day: 6 Assisi / Venice
 After an orientation tour of the city there is time to maybe visit the Basilica and see Saint Francis' tomb. Next, see the Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels. Then travel to the romantic city of Venice. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day: 7 Venice Sightseeing & at Leisure
 Start today with a cruise by private launch to St. Mark's Square. Marvel at the Bridge of Sighs, the Doge's Palace and the Byzantine Basilica of St. Mark. Watch a demonstration of the ancient art of glassblowing. Then, your time is free to explore or perhaps take a trip across the lagoon to the island of Burano. (Breakfast)
Day: 8 Venice / Verona / Italian Lakes
 Start the day with a drive to the home of Shakespeare's star-crossed lovers, Verona. See the Roman Arena and Juliet's balcony with memories of the famous scene from Romeo and Juliet. Then head to the Italian Lake District. Stop to visit Lake Como before continuing to your hotel. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day: 9 Italian Lakes / Pisa / Florence
 Drive south, crossing the Apennines to the coast. Follow the coastline to Pisa with its famous Leaning Tower, Cathedral and Baptistery in the Square of the Miracles. Later, on to Renaissance Florence. (Breakfast)
Day: 10 Florence Sightseeing / Rome
 On a walking tour, see the Baptistery, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto's Bell Tower, and the Piazza Signoria. Watch a leatherwork demonstration before returning to Rome. Your evening is free. (Breakfast)
Day: 11 Depart Rome
 You will be transferred to the airport (conditions apply), where your vacation ends. (Breakfast)
