CIE International Tour Itinerary

Day 1: Dublin Arrival & Touring
Your vacation starts at Dublin Airport where you will meet your driver. Depending on how you feel you may like to rest in your hotel or take an introductory tour around Dublin’s main attractions.

Day 2: Dublin to Ballycotton
The journey today to East Cork is about 160 miles by the direct route. You may like to travel through the historic town of Kilkenny or make a detour outside Cork to head to Blarney. Suggested visits – Irish National Stud and Gardens, Rothe House in Kilkenny, Rock of Cashel. (B)

Day 3: Ballycotton to Killarney
You may like to travel to Killarney via Cork city and Blarney. Or travel along the coastline of West Cork with its attractive towns and villages such as Kinsale and Clonakilty. Suggested visits – Midleton Irish Whiskey, English Market in Cork, Blarney Castle. (B)

Day 4: Beautiful County Kerry
Set out from Killarney on Ireland’s most popular scenic drive – the Ring of Kerry. Another popular drive is along the Dingle Peninsula where many movies have been made. Suggested visits – Skellig Experience, Muckross House & Gardens, Dingle Bay Cruise, Blasket Centre. (B)

Day 5: Killarney to Dromoland Castle Hotel
There are two routes to take you to Dromoland, either travel via Limerick and Bunratty or enjoy a short ferry across the River Shannon Estuary. It is about 90 miles by either route. It would be a good idea to arrive in Dromoland Castle early to enjoy the magnificent hotel and its facilities. Suggested visits – Cliffs of Moher, King John’s Castle, Bunratty Folk Park. (B)

Day 6: Dromoland to Ashford Castle
The distance between these two hotels is about 90 miles. You may choose to travel via the spectacular Cliffs of Moher and stop in Galway city. Suggested visits – Rathbaun Farm, Connemara Celtic Crystal Factory, Galway Cathedral. (B)

Day 7: Leisure Time at Ashford Castle
You may choose to rest and relax in this famous hotel with its superb facilities. Or take a drive through the stunning scenery of Connemara with its many hills and lakes. Travel to Clifden, the largest town in this sparsely-populated region. Suggested visits – Kylemore Abbey, The Quiet Man Cottage in Cong, Connemara Lady Catamaran Cruise in Leenane. (B)

Day 8: Ashford Castle to Dublin
Drive through the center of Ireland to Dublin – a distance of about 130 miles by the most direct route. You may like to travel via Athlone, a crossing place on the River Shannon or visit Clonmacnoise Monastic Settlement. Suggested visits – Kilbeggan Distillery Experience, Irish National Stud and Gardens. (B)

Day 9: Dublin Sightseeing
You may elect to stay in Dublin city center to browse around the principal sights and do some shopping. Or take a short ride through the Wicklow Mountains to the lovely valley of Glendalough or to stately Russborough House. Your driver/guide will assist you in planning a wonderful end to this special vacation. (B)

Day 10: Depart Dublin for Home
Your tour ends this morning with a transfer to Dublin Airport. (B)  >
