Globus South America Getaway With Amazon, Santiago & Easter Island(SBY2)

19 Day Tour from Manaus to Santiago
On this vacation to South America, discover the Amazon Jungle, three of the great cities in South America—Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, and Santiago—and Easter Island, an impressive and mysteriously isolated retreat in the Pacific Ocean. For an once-in-a-lifetime thrill you’ll visit the Amazon Jungle and cruise along the chocolate-colored Rio Negro to its confluence with the yellow-gray Rio Solimões, where the two rivers forming the Amazon meet. Watch for the captivating native flora and fauna. Also visit a rehabilitation center for primates and see spider, squirrel, woolly, and capuchin monkeys.

After your wildlife expedition in the Amazon, visit Rio de Janeiro—sip caipirinhas, a popular Brazilian cocktail from atop Sugar Loaf Mountain; visit the Christ the Redeemer statue; and walk on famous Copacabana and Ipanema Beaches. In Buenos Aires, learn to dance the Tango; see the Cemetery of the Recoleta, where Eva Peron is buried, and hear about her fascinating life. In Santiago, step back into the 16th century as you trace the city’s colonial history and heritage. Santiago sits with the snowcapped Andes Mountains as a backdrop, and it offers lovely cafés, shops, and attractions. Finally, be amazed by Easter Island, one of the most isolated islands on Earth. By about 300 AD, a small group of Polynesian seafarers settled on the island, and they began carving the hundreds of giant stone head statues—called moai—that still pepper the island. You’ll have an opportunity to see the moai as well as visit the volcano and caves.

A trip highlight is Iguassu Falls, one of the most spectacular sights on Earth. Meaning “Big Water” in the local dialect, there are 275 falls that cover a distance of over a mile and a half. A photograph cannot accurately portray this breathtaking sight—you must experience it for yourself! Hear the deafening roar and admire the brilliant rainbows created by the clouds of spray.

These are just some of the many highlights on this amazing tour. From vibrant cities and scenic beauty to the Andes Mountains and secluded mystery of Easter Island, all accompanied by a fascinating visit to the Amazon, this vacation to South America is the opportunity of a lifetime.
