Your 7-night cruise also includes time spent cruising the Caribbean Sea and a full day in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Itinerary (2017)

Day 1Miami.
 Arrive in Miami and transfer to your hotel. Tonight, meet your Globus Group Leader for a 6 pm welcome drink. This is a good time to meet your fellow program participants, get your questions answered, and prepare for your adventure in Cuba.
Day 2Miami–Havana, Cuba (Embarkation).
 This morning, a short flight brings you to Havana, Cuba’s capital city. Upon arrival, meet your Cuban National Tour Director. An orientation tour of this bustling city includes a photo stop at REVOLUTION SQUARE. Enjoy a ride in an OLD STYLER CAR—definitely a trip highlight! Next, lunch at a local paladar (special, privately owned restaurant), where over dessert you can discuss the rewards and challenges of owning a business in Cuba and in the United States. This afternoon, walk the streets of OLD HAVANA, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discuss renovations, different architecture, and plans for the future. Later today, board your ship, the MTS CELESTYAL CRYSTAL, your home for the next seven nights. (B,L,D)
Day 3Havana.
 Start your day with a visit to a DAYCARE CENTER to interact with the children and the nuns who run the program. The children may even delight you with a song or two. Next, it’s on to FINCA VIGIA, Ernest Hemingway’s beloved home. Hemingway lived in Cuba for more than 30 years, and it is here that he wrote several books, participated in fishing contests and enjoyed the laid-back ambiance of the island. Engage with staff to learn about this Nobel Prize-winning novelist and his life in Cuba. You’ll also have a chance to see his fishing boat, El Pilar. Lunch is at a local ORGANIC FARM, where you’ll join in a discussion with the owners, learn about organic farming in Cuba, and then sit down for a genuine farm-to-table experience. Re-board your ship for a 5 pm departure for the beautiful Isla de la Juventud (Isle of Youth). (B,L,D)
Day 4Cruising.
 As we cruise the crystal-blue waters of the Caribbean Sea today participate in people-to-people activities aboard the ship. (B,L,D)
Day 5Cienfuegos.
 Founded by French immigrants more than 150 year ago, Cienfuegos is known as the “Pearl of the South” because of its impressive beauty and colorful history. Get acquainted on a walk around the main square. Next up: enjoy a performance and discussion with the CIENFUEGOS ORCHESTRA. Lunch is served at a waterside paladar, where discussion with the owner and staff could include the free enterprise system in Cuba. Return to the ship and set sail for Jamaica. (B,L,D)
Day 6Montego Bay, Jamaica.
 A full day in Montego Bay. Explore on your own or participate in one of the ship’s optional excursions. (B,L,D)
Day 7Santiago De Cuba, Cuba.
 Your visit to Santiago de Cuba includes a guided walk though Santiago de Cuba’s charming main square, REVOLUTION SQUARE, and a visit to SAN JUAN HILL, where Teddy Roosevelt, the Rough Riders, and America’s Buffalo Soldiers emerged victorious in the Spanish-American War. Next, visit Jardín de los Helechos, the GARDEN OF FERNS. Here, you’ll interact with workers to learn about the various ferns and orchids found here and will also discuss what is needed to maintain this unique garden. Then, take a panoramic CRUISE to Granma Island. Over lunch, join in a DISCUSSION with local fishermen and learn about their fishing practices and their community project that helps sustain the environment. Return to the ship in the late afternoon. Day 8Cruising.
 A full day cruising the Caribbean Sea. Take time to explore the ship, get to know your fellow passengers, or relax with a book on the deck. (B,L,D)
Day 9Havana (Disembarkation).
 This morning, arrive in Havana and disembark your ship. Our first stop is a visit to JOSÉ FUSTER’S STUDIO, the artist cleverly nicknamed the “Picasso of the Caribbean.” Here, you’ll discover a surreal world—like nothing you have seen before. Interact with members of the neighborhood to discuss the project’s impact on the surrounding area. Next, the illustrious HOTEL NACIONAL DE CUBA, a symbol of history, culture, and Cuban identity. The hotel has hosted celebrities and world figures, including Winston Churchill, Mohammed Ali, and Steven Spielberg. Over lunch, meet former Cuban baseball players for a DISCUSSION on the history and the love of this favorite pastime in Cuba and in the United States. Tonight, join your travel companions for a special farewell dinner—the perfect ending to your time in Cuba. (B,L,D)
Day 10Havana–Miami, USA.
 After breakfast, depart for the airport and your return flight to Miami. Please schedule connecting flights after 3 pm. (B)

Dates & Prices do not include air travel.
Participation in this vacation requires purchase of the following flights from Globus, not included in pricing: (1) roundtrip air from your U.S. gateway and intra-vacation air segments; or (2) intra-vacation air segments only, starting at $483. Required intra-vacation air segments are: Miami/Havana; Havana/Miami. Your air price includes, (a) luggage allowance of 44 lbs per person (total for checked and carry-on), (b) Cuba Health Insurance ($46), (c) Cuban departure Tax ($25), and (d) applicable taxes. Air prices were effective on July 13, 2016, and their availability is limited. At the time you purchase your trip, air prices may be higher.

Cuba Visa Fee ($85) is additional and mandatory. This fee will be added to your program summary.

Cruise line imposed port charges ($199) are not included in prices

Unlimited non-alcoholic beverages are included while on Celestyal Crystal. At time of print, package includes soft drinks, tea, coffee, select juices, and a variety of non-alcoholic cocktails. Upgrades to other drink packages will be available through your MyGlobus account approximately 90 days prior to departure.

For your convenience, as credit and debit cards issued by U.S. banks have limited use in Cuba, program gratuities ($226) are additional and mandatory. This fee will be added to your program summary.

Pricing is based on inside cabin, category IC; upgrade to an outside cabin, category XD from $314 to $448; upgrade to an outside cabin, category XF from $405 to $581; upgrade to a junior balcony suite, category SBJ from $559 to $768.

NOTES:
  • Due to operational issues, the stop at Isla de la Juventud will no longer happen (day 4). In its place, a day at sea with people-to-people activities will be offered onboard the ship.
  • The “Cuba by Land & Sea” program requires walking on cobblestone streets and uneven pathways, climbing stairs, and participating in a full-time schedule of people-to-people activities.
  • Due to the special requirements to visit Cuba, participants will be required to complete and sign a travel affidavit/visa application form confirming that they are traveling under a people-to-people license and will participate in a full-time schedule of educational exchange activities. Participants are also required to send a color copy of their passport valid photo page (passports must be valid 6 months from the last date of travel). These items must be sent to Globus within 7 days of making a reservation.
  • In Cuba, activities that have been scheduled far in advance can sometimes become unavailable for a number of different reasons. The purpose of the trip is to have meaningful interactions with the locals and if the planned people-to-people educational exchange isn’t available, rest assured that another will be substituted that will be just as enriching.
  • The cruise itinerary is provided by Celestyal Cruises and is up to date at time of printing. Your travel documents will contain the most current information.
  • While sailing aboard the Crystal, there will be additional opportunities to have people-to-people experiences with the Cubans who work on the ship.
