Trafalgar Tour Itinerary

Day: 1 Arrive Cairns (3 Nights)
You're in for an ace time on this leisurely Aussie-Kiwi holiday that kicks off in the laid-back tropical city of Cairns, where lush green jungle meets the Great Barrier Reef. Spend a laid-back afternoon (flights to arrive prior to 2pm) in the city's relaxing parklands, or amble along the Promenade from the Marina to the mangrove forest, before joining your Travel Director and your new travel mates for a Welcome Reception and privately hosted Be My Guest Dinner at the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park.Welcome Reception, Be My Guest Dining
Day: 2 Great Barrier Reef
You can see it from the moon, but that doesn't mean you have to jet into outer space for an engaging encounter with the largest living structure on earth. Slice through the azure waters of the Coral Sea on board a high-speed catamaran to the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef and to an astounding wonderland 'Downunder'. Schools of Angelfish, Gobies and Parrotfish weave in and out of the luminous orange, purple, yellow and pink underwater coral forest, sharing their marine habitat with sea snakes, turtles, and the odd shark. You won't even need to get your feet wet to witness the utopia beneath the ocean surface, observing the diversity of this living wall that spans over 2,000km along Australia's Queensland Coast. Sit back in a semi-submersible craft and admire the tranquil depths of the reef from your underwater observatory. If you so choose, you will have an opportunity to go snorkelling and view the myriad of marine species up-close (equipment provided). Before embarking on your journey back to Cairns, enjoy a tropical buffet lunch with the knowledge that there's a whole other world swimming below.Buffet Breakfast, Lunch

Or board the famous Kuranda Scenic Railway for a breathtaking trip on one of the world's most scenic rail journeys. Today is yours to explore the tropical north on your terms. Buffet Breakfast
Day: 4 Cairns - Uluru (Ayers Rock) (2 Nights)
The chilled cityscape of Cairns behind us, we fly to the Red Centre of Australia and to Ayers Rock, spending the afternoon indulging in a leisurely educational drive through the terracotta-hued desert plains of the Outback to Kata Tjuta (the Olgas) to explore its geological and cultural history. The giant domes of Kata Tjuta rise up from the dusty spinifex plains - an ancient expanse completely devoid of noise. Embrace this place of peace and an opportunity to sit still and let the immensity of these sacred surrounds permeate all thoughts, before watching the red and orange hues signal the end of another day, celebrated with sundowner nibbles and bubbles. Buffet Breakfast
Day: 5 Uluru (Ayers Rock) Sightseeing
This morning, behold an intoxicating pink, purple and yellow dawn canvas set against the majestic red sandstone mound of Uluru. It's well worth an early start to your day meeting its caretakers, the Anangu Aboriginal people, who have regarded this site as sacred for centuries. Spend your day in a soulful exploration of their ancient culture and traditions in a Cultural Insight, until the Outback's larger-than-life sky turns a fiery shade of orange and red and gives rise to another opportunity to enjoy sundowners against an Uluru backdrop. Enjoy an award-winning Regional Meal of an Aussie barbecue while the night sky lights up with billions of stars, and a Local Specialist shares insights into the southern hemisphere's constellations. You may even see a shooting star or two. Buffet Breakfast, Regional Meal
Day: 6 Uluru (Ayers Rock) - Sydney (3 Nights)
Put paint to canvas with the help of your Local Specialist and Aboriginal artist who will share the symbolism behind the colours and totems used in Western Desert Art, before having an opportunity to craft your very own masterpiece as a memento of the mystical experience you've enjoyed at Uluru. From the spiritual heart of Australia, we fly to cosmopolitan Sydney where you have a full evening to explore a city whose beautiful Victorian architecture and pristine public gardens give little sign of its rough and tumble beginnings. Spend the evening ambling along the promenades of Darling Harbour for great waterfront dining, cocktail bars and entertainment before a busy day of Sydney sightseeing tomorrow. Buffet Breakfast
Day: 7 Sydney Sightseeing
Think beautiful beaches, iconic architecture and a tangible sense of vitality. Sydney will tick all these boxes and more. Join a Local Specialist for a guided tour of the Sydney Opera House - its white sails an iconic addition to the bustling Sydney Harbour that also features 'The Coathanger' which links the city's centre with Sydney's northern suburbs. But it's the beautiful people of Bondi Beach with whom we get to spend some time, dipping our toes into the deep blue sea and ambling along the Bondi Pavilion stopping at an art gallery and kicking back with a drink and people watching. Our encounter with Sydney's picture-perfect harbour hasn't quite come to an end as we board a Captain Cook Lunch Cruise Regional Meal and enjoy a fresh seasonal menu, sailing past the magnificent waterfront mansions, parklands, coves and golden beaches for which Sydney Harbour is so famous. This evening, we join the Tamaki Family for a personal encounter with Maori culture and tradition and a delicious Be My Guest Hangi feast.
